Sergio Garcia is at it again…making comments he knows he shouldn’t
be. All because of a feud between him
and Tiger Woods, like seriously Sergio have you not learned your lesson? Your certainly not new to the PGA you know
how these things work.
Sergio has been reported saying he had difficulty sleeping
and contemplated withdrawing from this week's European Tour event, Sergio Garcia
on Wednesday afternoon apologized for racially insensitive remarks directed at
Tiger Woods tour function outside London the previous night, acknowledging his
comments were "totally stupid and out of place."
This whole blow up started when Sergio jokingly answered a
question at a European Tour players dinner Tuesday night about getting together
with Woods at the U.S. Open by saying, "We'll have him 'round every night.
We will serve fried chicken." I cannot actually believe that in 2013 we
still have this ridiculousness between different racist and that Sergio doesn’t
know how to behave in the public’s light.
It didn’t take long for Sergio’s sponsors to step in and
cover their own butts stating: "Sergio Garcia's recent comment was
offensive and in no way aligns with TaylorMade-adidas Golf's values and
corporate culture," the statement read. "We have spoken with Sergio
directly and he clearly has regret for his statement and we believe he is
sincere. We discussed with Sergio that his comments are clearly out of bounds
and we are continuing to review the matter."
This whole situation is very troubling for the world of golf
and hopefully Tiger will come to perform the next time him and Sergio are close
in competition.
